Introduction

In accordance with the decision of the Senate of Çankırı Karatekin University dated June 3, 2021, and numbered 15/8, and based on the official letter from the Ministry of National Education dated March 15, 2021, numbered 22406422, titled “Establishment of the YLSY Scholarship Coordination Unit,” and pursuant to Article 11, Paragraph 1 of the Regulation on “The Education of Turkish Students Abroad,” published in the Official Gazette dated March 1, 2020, and numbered 31055, the YLSY Scholarship Coordination Office has been officially established.

This Coordination Office has been structured to operate within the university for the purpose of organizing, monitoring, and supporting the processes of students to be sent abroad under the YLSY (Graduate Studies Abroad) Scholarship Program, administered by the Ministry of National Education.

With the establishment of this office, more effective participation of the university’s relevant academic and administrative units in the processes carried out under the YLSY program will be ensured. Additionally, coordinated and systematic support will be provided to students throughout the application, acceptance, placement, education, and monitoring stages.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities of the YLSY Scholarship Coordination Office are defined within the framework of the provisions of the Regulation on “The Education of Turkish Students Abroad,” published in the Official Gazette dated March 1, 2020, and numbered 31055. Within this scope, the Coordination Office:

  • Monitors the process of students applying to the YLSY scholarship program,

  • Provides necessary information and guidance to candidates,

  • Acts as a communication bridge between the university and the Ministry of National Education,

  • Tracks and reports the educational progress of scholarship holders studying abroad,

  • Follows changes in legislation related to the YLSY program and informs relevant units within the university,

  • Coordinates the return processes of scholarship recipients and their employment procedures within the university.

This unit aims to contribute to the internationalization goals of Çankırı Karatekin University and to support the development of a qualified human resource.
